A driver was killed last Friday when his vehicle crashed into a school bus in northwestern Wisconsin, according to several published reports.
The fatal accident took place about 7 a.m. Friday morning on Wisconsin 87 not far from 280 Avenue, roughly 15 miles from St. Croix Falls.
Fortunately, there were no children on the school bus at the time of the accident. The bus driver only sustained minor injuries.
According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the bus driver told police that the other vehicle crossed the center line of the highway and then hit the bus.
The school bus was retained by the Grantsburg school district.
